a research study by the department of spanish health and regional government of madrid found 70% of male prostitutes in the country are brasilian. in 2007, the population of brasilians in spain was 68%. male prostitution is invisible in comparison to female prostitution. only 1% of male prostitutes advertise in newspapers and 9% are on the streets. the remaining 61.4% solicit clientele in saunas or search out clients using other forms such as online or in brothels.
